9 Puppies!

Bailey had a litter of 9 puppies on October 4th - 5th : five boys and four girls!

And so it begins! Bailey went into labor late this afternoon and had her first pup at around 10:30pm. She has had 7 so far (4 boys and 3 girls), probably with one or two more to go!

Bailey is only a day or two or three away from giving birth to the pups! And she sure seems ready.

A Puppy Update

If you are interested in one of the puppies from the litter to be born this week, please read this post:

       For those of you who have already completed a pre-application for a puppy, you are on the priority list to get a puppy if you want one.

       If you have not completed a pre-application, it is possible all the puppies are spoken for. Please check back on October 15th or so and I will post if there are any puppies available. Thanks.

It's Looking like 8 Pups?

We had an x-ray done of Bailey's belly and the vet did a head count! It's looking like at least 7 pups, most likely 8, and there could be a 9th one hiding out somewhere! Have a look for yourself below. Check out the one in the bottom right, hanging at the bottom of the belly!

The puppies should be born some time between Thursday and Sunday this week. Stay tuned!

Something's Cookin' !!

Bailey is seven weeks pregnant at the moment - not too happy about the state of affairs based on how she looks in this photo from today!
       She is doing just fine - eating more and more each day and becoming more and more rotund!
       The sire is also a yellow Lab, so all the puppies will be yellow. We already have a list of people who would like pups.
       We expect the puppies to arrive around October 3 to 5th. We also do not know how many there will be. But... the buns are in the oven!

Here's a new photo of Luci, one of Bailey's puppies from her first litter who lives up in Evergreen with Amy. Luci is now 18 months old.
