A Puppy Update
A number of people have asked if we could post photos of any of the puppies as they grow up. We will do so when the owners send us pictures.
Here is a couple of pictures of Lucy (the smallest pup of the litter) with her owner Amy, first in a cart at what looks like Home Depot, and second with Amy hiking at high altitude somewhere in Colorado.
I suppose this is where the praise, "it's a dog's life" comes in!

See You Next Year!
We had an overwhelming request for puppies this time around, and people have asked if we plan to breed Bailey again. The answer is, YES. We plan to breed her next year at approximately the same time we did this year. That means we would have puppies available in May or June of 2013.
Stay Tuned!

Bailey the Wonder Dog - Post Litter!
Bailey has been a great first-time mother. She is only 4 years old and can easily have another litter or two. People have asked if we will breed her again and we probably will. We will wait a year for her next litter.
So for all of you who were interested in getting one of Bailey's pups and they were all spoken for (there were about two dozen people!), if you can wait a year we will probably have some more little ones running around!
For now, here's to BAILEY THE WONDER DOG! Kick back and chase the ball for a while, Bailey. You've done a great job as a momma!
PS - We will keep this blog active for the coming year and will post pictures periodically of the puppies as they are growing up (when the owners send us photos).

Puppies: Day 57 - BitterSweet Goodbyes
We have now bid farewell to 8 of the 9 puppies now. The house feels quiet and a bit empty now. But we are so pleased that all of the puppies are going to wonderful homes.
One family from Longmont picked up their pup Blazer today. The boys were so into having the puppy! They brought a bone along for the pup and are ready to have her as part of the family.
Maggie and Ben picked up Orion earlier in the day and brought him home to Vail. They sent a bunch of pictures from the day, having already brought the pup on his first hike in the mountains. I just love these photos of Ben with Orion on the hike and then afterward.
There is nothing quite like a guy and his dog in the outdoors together!
Tonight the Newman house is quiet after 8 weeks of constant activity. But our hearts are warmed by seeing these pups go to great new homes.
