We had a great day with six families picking up their puppies today! One of them surprised their 4-year-old daughter with the puppy. She did not know she was getting one until they came into our house. Now THAT was fun to watch.
Tim and Pat picked up Bella first thing this morning and she is already settling into her new home with a great family! Here's a few pictures of Bella - Tim and Pat sent us these shots:
The biggest shock to the puppies will come this week when they go to new homes (Little Lucy went to her new home today already!). They are leaving their "nest" (litter) for a new nest. They have only known life with each other, so this will be a big change for them. The good thing is that dogs forget easily and they will all soon bond with their family and forget about their brothers and sisters from the litter.
It sounds weird from a human perspective, but it's totally normal for dogs!
The puppies are getting ready for their new homes now! The first pup, Lucy, goes to her new home on Tuesday. Most of the rest of the litter heads home on Friday. They are ready and raring to go!
Bella is a spunky little girl (red string) who is going to Tim and Pat.
This is Hops, one of our four female pups. She is going to a great home with Joe and Heather.
Earlier this week the puppies figured out how to get in and out of the doggy door! At first they face-planted, but they eventually got the hang of it.
