Bailey's Back to Normal!

Bailey has her friend, Riley, with us for a week while his family is traveling. Riley is a Black Labrador - still a puppy. He's about 10 months old.
Bailey is back in shape (despite a bit of droopiness in certain areas!) as you can tell from her wrestling with Riley this morning.

Lucy, Meet Duke!

One of the families who adopted a puppy has a 4-year-old chocolate Lab named Duke. Lucy was the littlest one of the litter - now she's got a big brother to protect her!

Cooper at Home

The big boy Cooper (first born, biggest puppy) is at home with his family. Here's what they wrote about him today:
"He is the sweetest most cuddliest puppy!! He paws at the door when he has to go out, sits on command and is so much fun to play with! The kids are having the best time!! He has been such a great addition to our family!"

Hops is Home!

The last little girl to go to a new home was Hops, who left on Sunday. Her new owner wrote and said she is settling in very well - already sits and lays down on command! She's a beauty!

We Love This! New Families and Pups!

One of the most fun things we get to see is when families pick up their puppies for the first time! Talk about "love at first sight!"
This year was exceptionally great because one of the families surprised their 4-year-old girl with little Max! (see photo to left). It was CLASSIC to watch this little girl begin to process that her dad and mom got her a puppy for Christmas!
The other families mostly arrived early because they could not wait to get their pup. One family said they were driving around the neighborhood for an hour because they were so early!
All of this year's families have owned dogs, and most of them have had Labradors. So they know what they are in for - good, bad, and ugly! We are very sure all 9 of these puppies will settle into their new homes just fine.

Of course it's bittersweet for us as we say goodbye to the puppies. It's quiet in the house now. But we will also enjoy getting a regular night's sleep for the first time in 8 weeks!
Susy gets in her final squeeze of puppies just before they depart, as you can see from the photo here.
So here's to all the families and the 9 new additions to their household! May you all grow together and enjoy life together.
