Litter Day 37 - A Surprise on Christmas Day!

We had the privilege of having two families come to our house today and introduce their children to their new puppy! For one of the families the kids did not know they were getting a puppy until they got to our house and we introduced the puppy!
       There are few things in life that illustrate pure JOY than watching a child begin to get to know their puppy!

Families are beginning to select their puppies. Mark and Denise came over yesterday to select the first of the seven boys. They definitely had the most difficult job!

Our neighbor Katrina was over today for her daily cuddle with the puppies. She's a great help with the pups.
       The puppies are tired out this afternoon because they had their first-ever outing to the backyard!

Litter Pics Day 16: Pups Socializing with Friends

Our friends Bob and Cheryl came by for dinner last night. They foster dogs themselves, so they are very, very comfortable with pups. They are kind of like "dog whisperers!"
       One of the things we value as we raise a litter is for the puppies to be socialized among our friends and family. So the pups have visitors every day, get cuddled and held, and played with quite a bit. And nobody is better than Bob and Cheryl! They set the standard!

In a span of 72 hours puppies begin to see, hear, walk, and bark! It happens right about at two weeks old, which is just now!

The Announcement - Puppies Available!

Our Labrador Bailey had a littler of 10 full-bred Labrador puppies on November 18th. They will be ready to go to new homes the second week of January.

Litter Pic: Day 2

This little boy was serious about having breakfast this morning! Paws stretched out to protect from any of his brothers or sisters bumping in off his place!

The Litter - Day 1

It is the first day with our 10-puppy litter. This will be a marathon for the next 8 weeks. Such a large litter will literally take everything out of Bailey. At the end of this first day everyone has settled in for the evening - or at least for a couple of hours!
       I have "couch duty" for the evening, right net to the whelping box. Good night all!

This morning from 6am to Noon Bailey the Wonder Dog gave birth to a litter of TEN yellow Labrador Retriever puppies - 7 boys and 3 girls! More pictures to follow soon!

One of the best parts of raising puppies is watching families get to know their new furry friend (as you can see in this photo from Bailey's last litter).
       So, we are pretty sure that Bailey is expecting another litter, due around November 15th. Here we go again (the last litter for her)!

We Had a Puppy Party Today!

Three of the nine puppies from Bailey's last litter came over today for a little Puppy Party! Finn, Kinley, and Bella were here, and we heard from the other owners that they would have loved to be here if they could!

Cooper at 6 Months

We heard from another family of one of the puppies. This is the big boy Cooper!
       His owner, Amanda, wrote this: "Here is a few pictures of Cooper taken just a few days ago. His favorite thing to do is play fetch (he caries his fetch ball around the house hoping someone will throw it for him) or he just loves laying next to you on couch. He truly is the BEST dog!!! :)"

 

The Puppies @ 6 Months!

Next week (April 5th) Bailey's puppies from October will turn 6 months old. We have heard from many of the 9 owners and want to post some pictures. It is great to hear that the pups are all healthy and have brought a lot of joy and fun to their families. They all have this "slight" resemblance to their mom!!! HA

Some Comments from New Owners

The puppies are almost three months old. We have heard from a number of the owners. Here's a few comments:

From Tim and Pat: "Bella is doing great, growing well, playful and happy.  We are awaiting our vet's blessing to start her in doggy day care so that she can socialize with other dogs, and that should be OK in about 3 weeks (after her next set of shots).  We are in love with our baby girl."

From Rachael: "Huck is doing really great and seems to be learning and growing quickly.  We had him weighed at the vet and he is already up to 24 pounds. We love him and are so happy to have him as part of our family."

From Sean: "Good morning Newmans,

Max has settled in beautifully, no whining at all! 

He is a wonderful puppy with quite the personality.

He already knows he is Linah"s puppy, follows her around everywhere.

We are convinced he may be the best puppy in the whole world! :) Anyone who is around him just wants to take him home with them! He is so loving and SO well behaved! He has become best buds with our other dog Dakota and they are now inseparable!  Just wanted to thank you again for giving us such an amazing puppy and addition to our family!
